One of my longest wish came true this year….we now have a small patch of vegetable field!!

Because of the pandemic where the situation did not allow us to go out freely, our veggie field turned out to be a wonderful recreation for our family.  (Well, at least in the beginning when our kids were so excited about starting a veggie field…)

We started from cultivating and conditioning of the soil, planting seeds, followed by the long battle with the weeds in the scorching heat, which turned out to be a total nightmare, especially for the kids (tears, tears)

But all our hard work payed off eventually with our full harvest of fresh vegetables; swiss chard, zucchini, baby carrots, baby daikon radish, square beans, chrysanthemum leaves, baby bok choi, saltwort, snap peas, radish, green tomatoes, nasturtium, Chioggia beetroot, bitter gourd, strawberries etc etc.

There isn’t much harvest at the moment with our crops surviving through the brutal heat, but hopefully we get more crops soon, once the weather starts cooling down a little more!!
